Scalped #33

Written by Jason Aaron
Art by RM Guera

Scalped has been slowing down in its publication schedule right at the same time that the story has been speeding up, which is kind of annoying. A lot happens in this issue, but in terms of pacing, it reads more like a Robert Kirkman comic than anything else, especially when you get to its last page cliffhanger that feels rather like Aaron ran out of pages.

Still, this is one of the best comics out there. Dash is connecting up with Diesel, as the two increasingly have a lot in common. Red Crow rides in a helicopter (great scene), visits the hospital, and comes face to face with the Hmong. Lots of people are looking for Catcher. Shunka has words with Nitz, and that drug dealer takes to the hills. Aaron has a lot of balls up in the air right now, and he's managing to keep them all moving along properly.

My biggest hope is that the next issue comes out on time. I am excited to see how this arc ends.
