Crate Digging: Headshots: Se7en

by Atmosphere

Slug and Ant put this album together on a four-track, and released it on cassette between Overcast! and the Lucy Ford EPs. It's a rough album, requiring a little more tweaking in the lab, but it does get points for sincerity and effort.

Slug writes in the liner notes about his desire at this time to move from "punchline to sunshine", and you can see how he has pushed himself as an artist here, allowing the music to become more personal, which later became a trademark of his work.

The album came packaged with a second disc, which contains a pile of unreleased tracks from Atmosphere, The Dynospectrum, and related artists. It's nothing spectacular, but it has some nice pieces.

This is a collectors-only type of purchase, and not something you would use to introduce someone to Atmosphere.
